The town of High River has reached it final scheduled closure of the Centre Street Bridge on Thursday, October 25.

From the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the bridge will be completely closed off to traffic, as crews will be in the area to test out the newly installed floodgate and make sure everything is working properly.

The Happy Trails pathway near 1 St West was closed off on October 24, as crews work on landscaping and cleanup near the area.

Drivers can expect more traffic around the usual detours of 498th Avneune and flaggers from the town will be on 5th Street East during the busy periods of the day to help guide traffic.

In addition the three way stop remains in place on 3rd Avenue S.E. and 5th Street S.E. to help manage traffic flow.

After 4 p.m. the bridge will reopen to two way traffic.

The Town is asking drivers in the area to slow down when passing the bridge, as construction crews are still cleaning up the site around the bridge and the section of the Happy Trails that runs near the bridge.
