The Heroes Week and annual Celebrity Server event was another big success this year in High River.

Boston Pizza presented the United Way High River with $5,276 Wednesday.

Kelly Selmser with the United Way says money raised in the town stays in the town.

"It goes to local organizations like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Foothills Community Immigrant Services, Foothills School Division, Healthy Moms-Healthy Babies, Food For Thought, Snaps and Literacy For Life," she says. "Those are some of the things we did this year, but it changes year to year."

She says this year the United Way has tried to be more visible in the community by partnering with the curling club for its Great Scot tournament and with different businesses that took park in the Heroes lunch.
