It's a partnership made in heaven - cat heaven that is.

The High River Library and Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue Foundation have come together to host two cat cafes that have proven to be very popular.

"What I found interesting was that both times we did there were so many kids," said Hessel. "Lots and lots of parents showed up with young kids that were under six."

It also gives Hessel a chance to see how the cats interact with the kids.

So the foundation then knows what cats would make a good match with young kids.

"I would love to see every kid have a pet, but it has to be the right pet."

When we have families that come looking for a pet they can suggest one that interacted well.

Hessel says the plan is to have a Cat Cafe every two months.

She says the foundation has been asked to put on a Cat Cafe at Sunrise Villa for the seniors.

"I love that idea too," said Hessel.
