The Cash & Cars Lottery is back for another year and in the middle of a recession, The Alberta Cancer Foundation has made it easier on the wallet for those interesting in buying tickets.

Ticket prices have been lowered by 30 percent this year in hopes of a sell-out and still giving away some great prizes for those who buy.

Direct Marketing Specialist for the Alberta Cancer Foundation Sean Capri says there's some great savings this year.

"We've revamped our ticket structure and things seem to be working out pretty well," he says. "We're still giving away tremendous prizes, a house in Edmonton and Calgary both of them have a car out front and $5000 cash in the glovebox. We're doing this still with our ticket prices now starting at $75 each."

The three tickets for $150 have already sold out and you can get six tickets for $250.

Early bird prizes for the lotto include a His & Hers Vehicle and Getaway package which include Toyota trucks and Hawaiian vacation along with other cash prizes.

Capri says you don't want to wait till October 13 to get your ticket.

"Really you want to get in there before the early bird deadline on September 22nd so you get a great chance at those prizes. Our 'You Win 50' are selling very quickly it's a 50/50 draw where the jackpot grows with every ticket sold and the prize this year is up to $700,000."

Capri says all proceeds from the lotto go directly back to the foundation to help support those fighting and trying to find a cure for the disease.

"The Alberta Cancer Foundation benefits from the Cash & Cars Lottery and with every ticket sold it really is making life better for Albertans facing cancer at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and 16 other cancer centres across the province. This lottery really supports the patient care and all the research that happens at Alberta cancer centres."
