A Calgary man and his dog both escaped with their lives following a rollover accident Thursday night near High River.

Around 8:30 P.M., RCMP were called to the scene on Highway 2, underneath the Highway 23 overpass East of High River.

They say the 48 year old driver of a Northbound 2015 Mazda 3 lost control, rolling the car in the centre median, before it was stopped by one of the concrete supports on the bridge.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while his black Labrador Retriever, was uninjured.

Mounties say neither speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

They continue their investigation.
