Kim Lush, right, with patients at the old Cancer Care Centre at the High River Hospital

A nurse at the High River Hospital's Cancer Care Centre says Tate Barton has done an incredible amount of great work for the facility.

He announced Wednesday that his lemonade stand brought in $14,500 this year for the expansion of the centre.

Kim Lush says he's just amazing and she's impressed with all the work that goes into his fundraising, although it doesn't seem like work for him.

"No he just went for it a few years ago and it's turned into such a great event that we're just so thankful that he's wanting to help us out like this because the new clinic is going to be open in  the fall and everyone will be able to see what their efforts have amounted to which is going to be fantastic," Lush says.

There will be a small patio outside the expanded Cancer Care Centre so on nice days people can go outside and enjoy the sunshine and the interior will be much brighter than their previous home. She says it'll be a bright, cheerful place with lots of windows but there will also be space available for patients to go an lie down in a quiet area if they want.
