Canada post has issued a 72 hour lock-out notice on it's workers.

That means mail could stop moving by Friday, but the post office says that's not necessarily going to happen.

The Crown Corporation says they served the notice with the intention of suspending their collective agreement as of Friday, to allow them to take measures "necessary to respond to the changing business reality."

A big part of that according to Canada Post is a large decline in mail volumes in an increasingly digital world.

If there is a work stoppage, Government cheques, including Old Age Security, Canada Pension, and Canada Child Benefit cheques would still be delivered once a month.
