The Calgary Dream Centre is sending out a huge thank you to the residents of High River for making their Toonies For Turkeys campaign a phenomenal success.

Jim Moore Director of the Calgary Dream Centre says it was the first of its kind and High River brought in $7,000.

"High River did absolutely fantastic and were very receptive and wanted to do everything they could to to help us feed a lot of men this Christmas season."

He says they placed about 40 collection boxes in a variety of High River businesses for a month and the response was overwhelming.

Moore says we will likely see more of these collection boxes as Christmas approaches.
