Buyer beware is good advice at any time, but it's particularly important at Stampede time.

Leah Brownridge with the Better Business Bureau says buying stuff at the grounds is just fine, but you need to keep your wits about you.

"if you are purchasing a product from a seller or vendor that you've never heard of before. You're not familiar with them, there is a chance that if something goes wrong, you may have very limited or maybe no recourse at all. So, we do encourage people to make those kind of purchases with a credit card, so you should have some kind of recourse should a problem arise."

She says it's also a good idea to have a budget and stick to it, and not get caught up with the flashy sales displays or high pressure tactics.
