It's back to work for High River town council Monday afternoon.

Topping the agenda is, what could be, the end of the long process to come up with a new Land Use Bylaw.

After more than a year of work the bylaw received first reading in March and a public hearing was held April 3..

The final draft comes back for final approval to Monday's meeting.

Council will also be asked to throw it's support behind a plan to have a number of northwest properties exempted from a floodway relocation program.

Sixteen properties along Riverside Drive and High View Park received little damage in the 2013 flood and all are protected now by berms that have been built in the area.

The Town also wants the properties returned by the Province to private ownership.

Council will also give its blessing to the Volunteer Of The Year award winners.

There were so many nominees this year that five groups and individuals will be recognized in different categories.
