If you're interested in business, there are some great opportunities coming up.

Judy McMillan-Evans with Community Futures Highwood says they have 2 business expos on the way, one taking place later this month.

She explains this expo is all about planning against potential threats.

"The one on January 26 is all about businesses planning for the worst case scenarios, whether they be economic or whether they be natural disaster or whether they be the owner falls down the stairs.  Anything that could go wrong in business."

This business expo will be held at the Highwood Memorial Centre. Rgistration for the event is $25 per person and must be in by January 22.

McMillan-Evans says the program is for anyone who owns a business or is interested in business in the High River area.

"It's a program put on by Community Futures Highwood, and it's funded by Rotary International and the Alberta Government."

She notes there are different ways they plan to help people with business continuity management.

"It's a combination of a bit of a trade show, so insurance companies, different companies that support business planning or business continuity.  There's two workshops on business continuity and how to do a plan for that, and there's opportunity to talk to people who are experts in the field."

There will be another expo coming to town on March first.  Contact Judy for more information, at 403-652-9664 or cfhighwood@gmail.com.
