We've replaced Thursday's snow with sunshine and bitter cold for Friday, February 9.

We're expecting a sunny day and a high of -14, but the wind will have some bite as it means a windchill hovering around -25 to -30 for most of the day.

There are some extreme cold warnings out for areas around the Foothills, particularly in Strathmore and Vulcan.

You'll need to dress for the weather as exposed skin can freeze quickly.

It's also a good idea to keep an eye on your pets that need to head outside, as they can freeze very quickly too.

Driving could still be an issue as well as many town and city roads are still snow covered and icy.
