Seaman Stadium will paint the town pink on Sunday afternoon with a Dawgs tradition that isn't just about baseball.

Since 2008, the Dawgs have dedicated their regular season finale as a chance to raise money towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Dawgs will dawning traditional breast cancer pink jerseys for the game.

Dawgs Vice President of Promotions and Special Events, Will Gardner says the fundraiser hits home with everybody involved in the event.

"Everybody knows somebody, everybody has been touched by this horrible disease, everybody's got a friend or someone in their family, someone they know," Gardner says. "So for us to be able to contribute and you know it's unbelievable, but since we started in 2008  we've raised over $220,000."

The Okotoks Fire Department will once again be a part of the donations with their Fill The Boot campaign, they'll present a cheque prior to the first pitch. Then the Dawgs will have their live jersey auction between innings which has been a crowd favourite for years.

Gardner says it's something else to see each year.

"That live auction, there's a buzz and a feeling in the stadium that's unique," he says. "If people haven't been here for it, and haven't experienced it, it really is a special day, the players... they are so touched by this, seeing their jerseys go off their backs and into the hands of these generous donors."

Gardner hopes the Dawgs can raise enough money on Sunday to reach the $250,000 mark since they started doing breast cancer games and says it's all part of the duty Dawgs have in giving back to the community.

"We support over 1100 charities in the foothill corridor," he says. "We never say no to charity, there's no cause that we don't want to stand behind, the breast cancer happens to be one of the major and larger events that we do, but we're proud to partner with so many in the community that do great things.

The game goes at 2:05 p.m. against Medicine Hat on Sunday afternoon. If you're looking for tickets to help contribute to the benefit, visit the Dawgs ticket office.
