The town of Black Diamond is relooking at a by-law passed in the 1980's that indicated where residents should be, where the roads should be and what kind of services should be in the area. According to Mayor Sharlene Brown the bylaw needs to be updated.

"Allot of things have changed since the 1980's, our buildings have changed allot since the 1980's." Brown says.

Brown says that the town itself has changed from what it was when the bi-law was put into place.

"They didn't think that there was going to be condo's there, they didn't think that there was going to be high density construction in that area or possibly multi family homes. " Brown says.

The town is holding an open house tonight at the town office to review this bylaw as apart of the Kaiser Area Structure plan, looking at what do we want in that area? What kind of roads, parks and homes are needed in that area? The area in specific that the town is looking at right now is directly behind Mountain View Condos.

"Across the street going south from Rona that whole area is a blank field at this point of time, and in that case it is a blank slate."
