George Lane Park will host High River's, Canada Day Celebration on Sunday July 1.

The event will start at 12 p.m. and will run until 4 p.m.

Festivities are free to attend and family friendly; and will host several bands, live entertainment, dancing, a classic car display, and games for kids.

The celebration will host Sun Country Radio personality Sarah Scott, with an opening ceremony sininging of Oh Canada by Brettyn Rose.

Adult and Senior Programmer for the Rec-Plex Iva Woodward says to expect plenty of local talent "We have live music from Fraid Knot and Larry Vannatta, and Brettyn Rose the winner of Okotoks Idol."

George Lane Park is also hosting The Annual Servus Credit Union Canada Day Run and Half Marathon, which begins at 7am. For more details visit: http://www.highriverhalf.com/

Later in the evening there will be a fireworks show at Emerson Lake.

Woodward says the show will begin at "11pm or around dusk,will have a DJ, and a food truck."

Keep in mind parking is not permitted at George Lane Park.
