Many people in the rodeo world were shocked and saddened with the death earlier this year of bull rider Ty Pozzobon.

That includes Clareholm's Chad Besplug who was not only his friend, but travelling partner on the rodeo circuit.

"We've started a foundation in his name, we're not wanting to change the sport at all but just raise awareness and proper protocol after you do get a concussion and then just mental health in general," Besplug says.

Pozzobon suffered mental health issues associated with concussions.

"It's not just in bull riding or rodeo, it's time we learned more and started educating and looking after our young people and then just being there for each other," he says. "What we've realized is there's a lot more people struggling than are talking about it, we're wanting to lead in our industry on this and we're saying we're tough enough to talk so we're there for anybody."

Anyone who needs more information can go to the Ty Pozzobon Foundation.
