Alberta Parks has issued a couple of bear warnings.

One is for the Sandy McNabb camping area west of Turner Valley where a light brown black bear was seen Sunday passing through the campground.

It was spotted sniffing around in a site and observed knocking over a bbq in a neighbouring site.

Also, multiple Grizzly Bears including A Grizzly Sow with this years' cubs were spotted in the lower Kananaskis Lake campground and day use area..

Alberta Parks reminds you that while an advisory is in place for these areas, bears can be encountered anywhere in Kananaskis Country at any time.

To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear, make plenty of noise, travel in groups, be aware of your surroundings. look and listen for bears and their signs and keep your pet on a leash.

It's best to carry bear spray, make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use it.
