A Bassano woman is voicing her frustrations with the legal system regarding the Eddie Maurice case.

Zena Branson is speaking out about how rural affects residents in the foothills and surrounding areas.

"I think it's high time that the thieves when they're arrested, if they are arrested, are the ones that should have to start paying, not the victim. Our system, as everybody's putting it, is severely broken and something has to change." Branson said.

After having $300,000 worth of equipment stolen from her property in Bassano area, Branson has become an advocate for change in the justice system.

Branson arrived at the courthouse on friday with a banner petition signed by over 150 people from all over the world, showing support for Maurice.

Maurice will be back in court on June 22nd.
