Plan for a busy weekend March 16th to the 19th when the Atom "A" Provincial Hockey Tournament comes to High River.

Organizer Tammy Beach, says there's only a few teams, but the economic impact will be huge.

"It was a last minute host, and so last minute scramble to make sure we had money in place," said organizer Tammy Beach. "Of course there is going to be some really great hockey, because these are the top eight teams in Alberta."

"Some of the teams that are coming our very own Foothills Flyers, Black Diamond and High Country is coming," said Beach.

Also on the list are Indus, St. Paul, Peace River, Drayton Valley, New Sarepta and either Innisfail or Wetaskiwin.

"Eight teams is all, but each team brings anywhere between 15 and 20 players and these are 9 and 10 year-olds," she said.

"So they are bringing moms and dads and brothers and sisters and 160 players plus families is a lot of people for our little town for four days."
