Both the Alberta NDP and the Opposition Wildrose Party seem to be in agreement that the "Leap Manifesto" is a bad idea, that would be a disaster for Alberta.

Premier Rachel Notley has come out against the plan calling it "ill-informed" and "tone deaf."

While Wildrose Leader Brian Jean calls the policy "radical" and "anti-Alberta."

Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says he's not necessarily buying Notley's sincerity in being against the idea.

"It's questionable given the fact her staffers are all anti-oil. Her carbon tax is anti-oil. Her 'get off of coal' strategy, or so called 'climate rhetoric' is not selling well with Albertans. So, you know her kitchen table chat with the bowl of fruit beside her I don't think has any substance and I don't think Albertans are that foolish to believe she's as serious as she says she is."

The Federal NDP passed the resolution on the "Leap Manifesto" at their convention in Edmonton over the weekend, which will ask party members at the constituency level to consider gutting the oil industry as a way of halting climate change.
