A day after the Province announced they'll be capping electricity rates at 6.8 cents per kilowatt starting next Summer, and lasting for the next four years.

Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson has chimed in.

It's no surprise he's not a fan, saying with all the tinkering to Alberta's power systems, from suing providers to shutting down coal fired plants, the NDP is finally showing their hand.

"The NDP finally admitted their policies are going to at least have a minimum of doubling of your utility rates. That's at a minimum!"

The Province says if you're paying less than 6.8 cents per kilowatt now, it won't go up, but it won't go higher than that either.

They say anything over that will be absorbed by money brought in through the Carbon Tax.
