Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson is champing at the bit to get back into the Legislature this Fall.

He says one of his top priorities is making sure the final bits of flood mitigation work get the go ahead for High River.

He says so far all we have is the NDP's verbal promise that it'll get done.

"isn't it funny, it's only worth the paper it's written on. It's all be verbal up to now, there's nothing concrete and I've been asking the Ministers to put something in writing and I've received nothing. They're pretty much in the 'cone of silence' if you will. They've been not communicating, because of the Federal Election. They don't want to upset the opportunity I think for their Federal counterparts. Which is kind of ironic, because this is really our Province and they need to be communicating with not just the MLA's but with the citizens of Alberta."

Anderson says he has a meeting set with Municipal Affairs Minister Deron Bilous for around the time the Legislature sits, where he's hoping to get concrete answers to his questions and a proper commitment to finish the flood mitigation work.

Anderson says there's plenty the Opposition Wildrose will be holding the ruling NDP to task for when the Fall sitting of the Legislature gets underway Monday, October 26.
