The provincial government is toying with the idea of investing public money into the Trans-Mountain Pipeline to make sure it gets completed.

Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says any investment of taxpayer dollars into the pipeline, means that money has to find its way back to Albertans.

"This government doesn't have a track record in doing that. I don't think they've ever negotiated a business deal in their lives. They just seem to able to tax you on many different fronts. But their inability to manage businesses and corporations? I don't they've got the experience to do so, and I'm fearful for Albertans."

Anderson says with lukewarm support from Ottawa, and the increasing economic isolation of Alberta, is reminding him of the days of Pierre Trudeau and the National Energy Program of the 1970's.
