Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson isn't impressed with Premier Rachel Notley's talk to the Alberta Chambers of Commerce this week.

Notley told the crowd the Province's energy industry is critical to the economy but must clean up its environmental act.

Notley also says she was surprised with U.S. Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, who said this week she's opposed to the Keystone X-L Pipeline, and wouldn't approve it if she became President.

Anderson says Notley needs to focus on economics.

"You know our own Premier to talk more about environmental issues and climate change, but not talk about economic development in our own Province is quite shameful. And to call us again our 'embarrassing cousins' is absolutely ludicrous. She owes this Province of Alberta either an explanation or an apology."

Notley is planning a road swing through Eastern Canada and New York next week to promote the Province.

Specifically she'll be talking up Alberta's economic strengths and her government's environmental initiatives.

Anderson says the trip is not a wise use of taxpayer money.

"Stay home, do your job! We've had thousands of people in Calgary and in Alberta have been laid off because of the insecurity in our economic environment here. And secondly, billions of dollars have already left our Province and I think the horses have already left the barn on this one. I think what she needs to do is stay home and ensure that people can hold onto their jobs here and take care of Alberta."

Anderson says it's sad when Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall is doing more fighting for Alberta than our own Premier.
