Small businesses in our province have had a tough time lately, and the Alberta Party wants to help.

Leader Greg Clark says they want everyone to recognize Alberta as a great place to do business.

"I want to make sure that Alberta continues to be a great place to invest, continues to be a great place to start a business. As an entrepreneur myself, Alberta needs to have a competitive tax rate. People all around the country and all around the world should know that Alberta today is a great place to invest, a great place to do business."

He says he's concerned with the NDP government's approach to entrepreneurs.

"That entrepreneurial spirit I think is really important, and we need to be very careful not to ever lose that. I worry that this NDP government doesn't necessarily believe in small businesses or entrepreneurship in the way that they should and that's something that I'll continue pusking very hard for."

Clark says the government needs to spend less, just like households and businesses in alberta.

"So I'd like to see the government take action on the cost of government. All around the province businesses and households, we're doing more with less. The only place I don't see that is the provincial government. They don't seem to have any ability to constrain the cost of government. And those are hard conversations. Difficult management decisions need to be made, but I think we can expect our provincial government to do more with less. And I'm going to be sure to hold them to account."
