In light of the the current and incoming smoke-haze from the fires in the Pacific Northwest, Alberta Health Services has issued an air quality advisory for the Calgary Zone.

To reduce the possible side-effects of the smoke indoors, AHS recommends closing and locking windows and doors, keeping the fresh-air intake on air conditioners closed, and closing all floor registers and fire place dampers.

AHS also says to reduce physical activities outdoors, and avoid smoking, which puts more stress on your lungs as well as others.

Residents are asked not to use backyard fire pits or fire boxes in parks while the advisory is in effect.

If you're experiencing symptoms from the smoke, call Health Link at 811.
