The Town of Nanton has a brand new CAO.

Neil Smith comes to the Town after spending the last few years as the CAO for the Village of Kaslo, in B.C.'s southern interior.

Nanton Mayor Jennifer Handley says it wasn't to hard to sell Smith on the job.

"He was just looking for a real good school system for his four kids and he'd heard wonderful things about our schools here in town. And the other thing is he's originally from Scotland and he wanted to be close to an international airport, as his parents are aging and he wanted to be able to just hop on a plane if the need arose."

Handley says she and the rest of Council are very excited to have Smith come in to join the team.

Smith is the third CAO the Town has had since last year's civic election.

Smith's first day on the job will be Monday, January 7, 2019.
