The recent spring like temperatures we've all been getting used to are coming to an end this week.

Tomorrow there is a 30 per cent chance of flurries or showers, and on Thursday the low will be minus ten.

Environment Canada meteorologist John Paul Cragg says even if spring comes early this year, it's still wise to keep those winter ties on.

"Spring in general will be a little bit earlier this year," he says. "But there's always that chance in spring that cold air will come back and you'll get some snowfall."

However it may not be necessary to break the snow shovels out tomorrow, Cragg says any precipitation in the Foothills should be minimal.

Spring may be early this year, but the El Nino weather system that has been keeping our winter warm will wear off soon.

"It looks like El Nino will shift to more neutral during the spring. So the effects of El Nino should start to subside as we move further into spring."

While this week will be cold, the warm temperatures are expected to rebound in the next few weeks.

"We are forecasting for temperatures to rise up, continuing to be daytime highs the zero mark, with lows just getting in around zero."
