A collection of one act plays, brought entertainment to the Foothills over the weekend, and Dewdney Players Community Theater Group is ready to do it all over again.

Dewdney's newest production 'A Fistful Of Thespians' opened this weekend.

Actress Tracy Wyman says this production is much different than what they've done in the past.

"The series is five one act plays, that's why it's called a fistful. Each of these plays is going to bring you something different. You're going to be entertained in a totally different way, each time they switch up the sets and bring a new one on."

Wyman says, if you missed the production this weekend, you can still catch it next weekend at the Regional One Act Plays Festival, in which the Foothills group will be competing.

"We try to come up with some very interesting and intriguing plays, so that when we go on to compete next weekend in the Festival, one of these plays just might win and move on to the provincial level."

The five plays you can check out at the festival are Smitten, Post Its, The Christmas Tree, Coffee With Gabe and A Little Box of Oblivion.

The Regional Festival of One Act Plays is being hosted in Okotoks April 28th - 30th.
