No one's seen it yet but there's evidence that a black bear may be in the area around the Highwood Golf and Country Club.

High River Municipal Enforcement say there's no cause for concern.

They're working closely with the management at the golf course as well as with Alberta Fish and Wildlife to ensure the safety of area residents.

While there have been no physical sightings of a bear, droppings in the area suggest that there is a possibility that a bear has been in the area within approximately the past 12 hours.

Residents are asked to ensure that their pets are secured with a leash or are kept indoors.

Any wild animal sightings should be reported by phoning Municipal Enforcement/Bylaw Services at 403.601.8696.
