With the southwest berm now set to be built in High River, what's the fate of 12th Avenue moving ahead?

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says the road west of the traffic circle on Centre Street will be getting more than a facelift.

"12th Avenue repairs, and it's an actual re-do of the whole road. Is on the books right now. It's all planned and ready to go. We were not going to spend that money however, until we had the berm figured out. It'd just be wasting money."

He says the road's been pretty beat up since the flood, and after with all the heavy trucks using the road and the sandbags sitting on it.

Snodgrass says if the stars align they may start working on it in the fall of 2019.

He says the sand bags will be staying in place until the berm is pretty much done, which won't be until Spring or Summer of 2019.
