12th Avenue in High River will be the hub of activity this week.

Volker Stevin will be closing alternating Westbound lanes Tuesday, October 25, for some patch paving work over the Highway 2 bridge.

They figure the work, which starts at 9 A.M., will take about four hours to complete.

The second piece of road they'll be working on will be 12th Avenue West of the traffic circle.

After 3 1/2 years, the Town will finally remove the concrete barriers, and allow two way traffic.

However, the sand bags will remain in place, and because of the reduced lane width, the speed limit will be dropped from 50 km/h to 30 km/h.

The Town says they will add further "traffic calming" measures, such as speed bumps, if needed.

They expect to have the road open again within a week.
