"100 Women Who Care Foothills" is continuing to give back to the community as the group of 47 ladies has chosen their latest charity to donate to.

100 Women Who Care Foothills Founder, karen Love. says the winning pick caters to our four legged friends.

"That night we had three nominations, one of them was Pound Rescue, one was Rowan House, and one of them was Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society," she explains. "The ladies chose the Pound Rescue."

The rescue received $4,700 from the organization.

Love says, the donation to Pound Rescue shows how much the group has grown since it's humble beginning a couple years ago.

"We've had a few join and a few leave and we still haven't reached that magic 50 yet but we're getting close, much closer than our very first meeting where we had 22 members."

In August, 100 Women will be celebrating their second anniversary.

The next meeting will take place Thursday, August 3 in High River.
