A perfect night for the WPCA chuckwagon races June 24 for day 3 at Guy Weadick days in High River.

In front of a capacity crowd, Rick Fraser smoked them all with a big run of 1:14.81 to take the top spot on the night.

After 3 days, Kurt Bensmiller has put himself into position to win the championship as he sits first in the overall aggregate standings after a 3 run total of 3:45.69.

That puts him 1.31 seconds in front of 1981 High River champion Kirk Sutherland with just one run to go.

Rick Fraser's day money run vaulted him from 9th place overall at the start of the day into 3rd place overall, with two-time High River champion Luke Tournier sitting 4th and Chanse Vigen completing the top five overall after 3 runs.

High River's Jordie Fike finished the night in 9th while Jason Glass was way down in 27th, Okotoks Mark Sutherland was tied for 17th/18th spot and Dayton Sutherland was 25th.

In the Aggregate Standings Glass is 11th, Fike 17th, Mark Sutherland 16th and Dayton is 26th.

The driver posting the best 4-day aggregate time will be declared the champion.

The final day of races goes June 25 at 4 p.m.
