The Okotoks Oilers continued in their winning ways October 27th when they defeated the Camrose Kodiaks 4 to 3 in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

It took a pile of work though, the game was decided in a shootout.

They now have 14 wins and one loss on the season.

Assistant Captain Carson Beers says the Oilers had the lead, but a push by the Kodiaks tied things up in the third.

"They are a good team," said Beers. "They are a better team than their record. It was a good character win for us."

He added he was sticking up for his teammates last night.

"The coaches are preaching we need to stick up for each other, so I was trying to lead by example there. It doesn't matter who it is a 16-year-old could stand up for a 20-year-old. We just have to be a family if your little brother gets hit down, or your big brother you always try to fight for them. That is all we are trying to do."

They are playing the Lloydminster Bobcats tonight at 7 o'clock at the Pason Centennial Arena.

"Anybody can beat anybody in this league. I've seen it before we beat the top end team and lost to the worst team. At the end of the night you want to make your record one and zero."

Dylan Holloway and Kyle Gordon scored in the shootout for the win.
