The Okotoks Oilers doubled up the Brooks Bandits Sunday, April 8, 4-2 to take the AJHL South Division crown in six games, and are now off to the league finals against Spruce Grove.

Oilers defenceman Nick Blankenburg says the Oilers had to do something they didn't have to do all season, respond to adversity.

"I thought we did a really good job responding when we were down two games to one and winning the next three, so I think dealing with adversity, this series is really setting us up for the next series. So, I think we're ready and looking forward to it."

This is the first time the Oilers have ever advanced to the League Finals.

They and the Saints play games one and two in the best of seven series Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 at the Pason Centennial Arena in Okotoks.
