It was a big afternoon for novice saddle bronc riders at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo Wednesday, July 10.

The only cowboys who seemed to be able to stay on long enough to score were both locals.

K's Thomson from Lundbreck rode into first place on "Zodiac Margie," scoring 64, while Sawyer Eirikson from Okotoks jumped into second place on "Zingy Money" with a 62.5 score.

In the regular saddle bronc event, Pincher Creek's Dustin Flundra managed to stay in the money despite placing seventh on the day with 83.5 on "Gone Country."

Flundra's sits seventh in the aggregate.

High River bareback rider Linden Woods didn't get the ride he wanted, scoring an 80 "Bucking Knight," that put him in second last place on the day and last in the overall standings.

Woods is looking for better rides the next couple of days as he looks to make his way to Showdown Sunday.

In bull riding, DeWinton's Brock Radford had a good day.

Radford placed third after scoring an 85 on "Jukebox Hero" but after being bucked off on day one, Radford's still sitting in seventh place overall.

Cochrane bulldogger Tanner Milan had a good day as well, after a 4.0 second run put him in fourth place on the day, and third in the aggregate.
