Former Highwood Mustangs football star Troy Kowal is back in town this weekend and holding a youth football camp.

Kowal, who's heading into his second year at Minot State University in North Dakota says he wants to try and re-ignite the passion for football in High River.

"That's the main thing is it's for free. We're giving back to the kids because there's no team this year for football. And football's given me and my fellow instructors and teammates so many opportunities. Like Calum Minor, who's helping me, was the rookie of the league, when he first played football in High School. So, I think it's just an opportunity to give back to something that's given so much for us."

The camp goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Highwood High, with registration at 8:30 a.m. and it's free to attend.

Kowal says all the kids will get to run through every position during the course of the camp, with the emphasis being on how fun the game is.
