Another WPCA season has come to and end, with Dustin Gorst taking the the "Battle of the Rockies" title in Rocky Mountain House.

He says he knew a break-out was coming as far back as June.

"Around High River and Ponoka time, it started to come together. We had a really good Calgary. There was still some penalty troubles along the way coming up to here, but it felt like the momentum was there. The outfit was slowly coming together and then it came together for this weekend."

High River's Jason Glass finished seventh in the aggregate, with fellow High River driver, Jordie Fike in 15th.

Okotoks Mark Sutherland who headed into the final day in top spot in the aggregate, clipped a barrel, costing him five seconds and any shot at the title as he finished 16th in the aggregate.

And Okotoks Dayton Sutherland brought up the rear for the local contingent, finishing 32nd.

And as is always the way at the last event of the season, the WPCA Driver of the Year award is handed out as it goes to Kurt Bensmiller for the second time in his career.
