Get your running shoes on, the 15th annual friendship run takes off on Victoria Day at the High River Rodeo Grounds at 9 a.m.

It is the 15th annual run involving the two communities.

High River Mayor Craig Snodgrass will be running in it and says it's free - just show up, you can run or walk the course and no times are kept.

"It starts at the tractor museum at the rodeo grounds in High River and running to the Aldersyde Field House" said Snodgrass. "It is a little shorter distance than it has been in the past. which was about 23 KM this one is about 13 km. A little easier for a few more people."

Snodgrass says he would like to see more High River Runners come out as the Okotoks participants are out numbering them.

"There is always a few more from High River every year.  It's just a lot of fun its not competitive. You can run it you can walk it, you can run walk it do whatever you want. It is just a great morning to get out and go for a run and see some friends."

You can just show up there is no entry fees, and at the end there is a barbecue.
