The High River Flyers had a great 40 minutes playing against Airdrie Friday night in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.

It was the other 20 minutes that messed things up.

Coach Tyson Avery says the team was pretty disappointed in their performance.

"They played hard, skated with them and made some great plays," said Avery. "Then we had 20 minutes off and it cost us. Airdrie capitalized on their chances in those 20 minutes and that is where we lost the game."

The team talked after and Avery expects a totally different team to show up in Ponoka on Oct. 8th.

In spite of the loss the Flyers are looking to be a good team this year.

"We have growing pains and learning curves but overall the team is doing really well. They are coming along really good and we are happy with them."

But he added you have to play a full 60 minutes.

"Not 40 minutes or 20 minutes, you have to play a full 60 so it might take a few losses for them to grasp what we are saying but once they do things will go very well."

The team is off to play Ponoka October 8th at 3 p.m. and they return home on October 13th when they host Stettler at the Rec-plex.
