No shortage of Canadian talent at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas which gets started Thursday night.

Three locals are going for the big money and big championship trophies.

Nanton's Clay Elliott in saddle bronc, Jordan Hansen of Okotoks in bull riding and Arrowwood's Jeremy Buhler in team roping are looking to cash in.

It total there are eight Alberta contestants including Zeke Thurston of Big Valley in saddle bronc, Tanner Milan of Cochrane in steer wrestling, and Jake Vold of Ponoka in bareback.

They're joined by Scott Guenthner of Provost in steer wrestling andf Layton Green of Meeting Creek in saddle bronc.

The NFR runs from December 7 to the 16.
