The Okotoks Dawgs have gotten all the drama out of the way early.

With seven games remaining on the schedule the 30-and-11 Dawgs have clinched first place in the WMBL West division.

Coming off a perfect Saskatchewan road trip, where they went six-for-six, the Dawgs not only have the best record in the league but are also the first team to reach the 30-win mark.

The Dawgs sit seven-and-a-half games ahead of the Edmonton Prospects, the only team that could catch them in the standings, and would win the head-to-head tiebreaker if the two were to finish the regular season tied.

This season's been a record breaking one for Okotoks.

Matt Lloyd leads the WMBL in average, hitting .417, and is riding a franchise high 21-game hitting streak.

Kody Funderburk's league-leading 13 homers are four more than the second place Broderick Rodocker of Regina.

Tyler Burdett leads the league in saves with 12.

The Dawgs continue to have solid fan support, averaging around 4000 fans per game.

The Dawgs host the Lethbridge Bulls Tuesday July 25, at Seaman Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
