The Bow Mark AAA Oilers are on a break right now - right when they needed it the most.

They have some injuries to heal up from, but they also have a tough road ahead of them to earn a playoff spot in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League.

Head Coach Kevin Willison says on December 3rd their record was 12-5-4 and now it is 12-11 and 5.

"We have taken a few backward steps," said Willison. "We had a great showing at the Mac's tournament at Christmas time, represented the franchise for the first time ever, really well. The boys were professionals, they played hard and competed."

Since the Mac's they played four games lost all of them and are now on the outside looking in for a playoff spot.

"We are looking forward to the remaining games we have and we are going to have to win five of six games to have a chance to make the playoffs and if we don't the season is going to end early."

Willison says they need to stick with the process, trust the process, and if they do the little things well, the process will take care of itself.

The team practices on Friday, January 19th and three times next week before their next game.

Next up they take on the Calgary Buffaloes on January 27th, their next home game is against the Leduc Oil Kings on February 3rd.
