One Okotoks Oiler set a new record over the weekend, as the club split their home and home series with the Drumheller Dragons.

Carson Beers, played in his 183rd game for the Oilers to become the longest serving Oiler, Surpassing former defenceman Jonathan Turk.

He says he was a little nervous the first time he laced 'em up for the club.

"I was scared, at that time I was a smaller guy, it was a different league. In my second year I figured out what I could and couldn't do, but I was still learning. Third year was something else, probably my best year ever. But I'm trying to make it better this year, so we'll see how it goes.

Beers and the Oilers head to Olds Saturday, November 11, to face the Grizzlys.
