High River's Family and Community Support Services has received approval from the Town for this year's grant recipients.

Shelly Koot with FCSS explained they're funded to establish, administer, and support preventative social services in the community.

Here's the list of recipients:

  • $10,000 to the BGC Foothills Club
  • $7,500 to Connections Program of Christ the Redeemer School Division
  • $2,800 to Eunoia Equine Assisted Learning
  • $1,650 to Foothills Community Immigrant Services
  • $8,530 to Foothills Country Hospice
  • $7,500 to the Family School Liaison Program of Foothills School Division
  • $10,000 to Inclusion Foothills
  • $6,000 to the Prevention Education Program of Rowan House Emergency Shelter
  • $1,920 to the Solace Grief Support Society; and
  • $19,100 to Wild Rose Community Connections (DadConnexx & Volunteer program).

She also thanked council members Jenny Jones and Brenda Walsh who sat on the task force along with members of administration that reviewed the applications.
