The Town of Okotoks is cautioning residents to stay off of snowbanks.

Large snow piles have accumulated during snow clearing operations from the town, many of which have since hardened.

Though they may seem like ideal play structures for kids, the town is asking residents to stay well away in order to avoid injury.

That includes tunnelling into snowbanks.

Heavy machinery will be used to remove the piles, which would present significant danger if someone is tunnelled into one of them.

Instead, they recommend making use of one of their many approved toboggan hills.
