The Heritage Junior Hockey Leagues 2016 season opens this weekend.

The Okotoks Bisons kick off the season with their home opener against the Coaldale Copperheads Friday; Puck drop is 8:00 pm at the Murray Arena.

The Bisons head to Strathmore on Sunday when the Wheatland Kings kick off their season with a home opener as well.

The High River Flyers are the other Foothills team kicking off their season Friday night.

The Flyers will take on the Cochrane Generals in their home opener; Puck drop is 8:15 pm at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

The Flyers head to Coaldale Saturday night to take on the Copperheads.
