The Highwood Golf and Country Club will be opening their driving range Thursday.

General Manager Graeme Kreiner says it's the earliest they've ever opened the range.

"From what I understand it's the earliest. The weather's been great, we haven't even got the snow Calgary's gotten recently. The forecast is looking alright coming up, so we might as well get people up swinging the clubs before the season starts."

Kreiner says while the phone hasn't been ringing off the hook, they have taken a few phone calls from curious golfers wondering if they'd open the range early this year.

Kreiner says the range will be open from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. daily, weather permitting.
