It's a big weekend for the Rocky Mountain Raider Midget Triple 'A' girls this weekend.

The Raiders host their home opener Sunday afternoon against they're rivals the Calgary Fire.

After last year's memorable season where the Raiders won the league title and the Pacific Regionals to a run at the Esso Cup, Manager Bob Brown says the sky is the limit to repeat.

"I think everybody is excited and optimistic, we've got a few new recruits to strengthen up everything," he says. "The league itself has taken a step up we've gone from nine teams to six so the quality of play is just going go up so I think every team is going to have a high expectation."

The home opener will include the Raider championship banner raising.

Brown is reminding hockey aficionados that the Raiders play outside of Okotoks at the Scott Seaman arena where you can bring the whole family at an incredible rate.

"It's a great product and the best thing is that it's no charge. You come in and watch hockey, we're going to have a lot of excitement the girls play really good hockey and no one would be short changed in the time that they'd invest.

The Raiders are currently 1-1 on the AFHL schedule and face the Fire first in the city on Saturday before Sunday's puck drop at 2 p.m.
